Dr. Sanjeev Kumar
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar holds a Ph.D. from the University of Delhi and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi since 2015. In addition, he is an Academic Fellow at the Institute of Lifelong Learning, University of Delhi. His research expertise encompasses a diverse range of areas, including social inclusion, electoral behavior, Indian political thought, gender studies, research methodology, and public policy.
Dr. Kumar has worked with research organizations such as the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Social Studies Foundation (SSF), and Oxfam India. He has also held teaching positions at Dyal Singh College, Ramanujan College, Satyawati College, and the Department of Political Science at the University of Delhi from 2011 to 2013. In his research capacity, he has been regularly associated with major institutions such as the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), National Commission for Women (NCW), and the University Grants Commission (UGC), contributing to projects of national significance.
As a Principal Investigator, Dr. Kumar has successfully completed five national research projects and is currently leading three more, funded by the ICSSR and Social Studies Foundation. His work has received international recognition, securing research grants to travel and collaborate with foreign universities, including the University of Tartu (Estonia), University of Warsaw (Poland), University of Fribourg (Switzerland), and Syracuse University (Florence, Italy). In addition, he has been awarded publication grants from FREP.
Dr. Kumar has edited three books on topics such as Subhas Chandra Bose, Comparative Government and Politics, and a vision for a developed India (Viksit Bharat). Two additional books, one on Public Opinion and Research Methods and the other on Women in Cyberspace, are forthcoming. He has delivered approximately 40 speeches, talks, and presentations at various academic conferences and seminars. His scholarly contributions include more than 30 articles published in Scopus-indexed, UGC-CARE-listed, and other peer-reviewed journals, as well as independent research reports.
Dr. Kumar is member of several prestigious national and international academic organizations, including the Indian Political Science Association, International Studies Association, International Political Science Association, European Association for South Asian Studies, and the European Association for the Study of Religion. He has also actively served as a resource person for state administrative services and participates in selection committees for various institutions. He has also served as reviewer for national and international journals such as FREP and Taylor and Francis.
