Suman Kumar
Suman Kumar is a researcher specializing in population studies, data analysis, and statistical modeling. He holds a Master’s degree in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, where he was awarded a Government of India Fellowship. His Master's dissertation, Multimorbidity in Later Life: A Cross-Sectional Examination of Prevalence, Predictors, and Disparities by MPCE Status in India, explores the socio-economic determinants of multimorbidity among older adults in India. He has a strong command of large-scale datasets such as NFHS, NSSO, LASI, and IHDS and is skilled in software including STATA, Python, Power BI, ArcGIS, and N-VIVO.
Suman has experience in impact assessment and research, having worked as a Management Information System (MIS) Associate at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he contributed to a project on childhood neurodevelopmental disorders. He also interned as a Data Analyst with the Tata Community Initiative Trust, conducting ROI and SROI analyses of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. His research interests include public health, health economics, social exclusion, and underdevelopment. He has qualified for the UGC NET-JRF in Population Studies.
