Internship

SHD Research Foundation offers winter and summer research Internships to cater to the needs of students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as implement the objective of NEP 2020. These internships are designed to mentor and equip students with essential research skills covering research design, questionnaire preparation, field surveys, data analysis, and report writing. These programs also offer several benefits, such as the opportunity to earn academic credits towards their degree, the chance to publish in foundation’s journals, and complimentary membership with the foundation as well as long term research association with the organization.

Winter Internship (2024)

Overview

Orientation cum Training Program for Winter Interns
The Orientation cum Training Program for the winter interns of SHD Research Foundation was held on 21st January 2025 in collaboration with the Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL), University of Delhi. The event took place in the conference hall of ILLL, North Campus, Delhi.
The orientation session was chaired by Prof. Sanjoy Roy, Director of ILLL and Head of the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi. The program featured distinguished speakers, including Prof. Sushma Yadav, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Haryana Central University; Prof. Rekha Saxena, Head of the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi; Mr. Jitendra Kumar, an industry expert; and Prof. Atul Kumar Singh, an eminent scientist, retired Director of DCFR, Bhimtal, and Emeritus Professor of NBFGR, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
A total of 57 interns participated in the program, with 42 interns attending in person and 15 joining online from various parts of the country. The interns represented seven states of India, showcasing a diverse cohort.
The foundation's directors, fellows, associate fellows, and research staff were also present at the event. They provided the interns with guidance regarding their roles and responsibilities in the upcoming field studies, desk research, and publication activities.
The program successfully equipped the interns with the knowledge and skills required for their involvement in research and fieldwork, laying the groundwork for meaningful contributions to the foundation's objectives

Winter Internship (2024)

Overview

The Summer internship (2024) at the Centre for Data and Behavioral Analytics (CDBA), a unit of the SHD Research Foundation (SHDRF), focused on post-poll electoral analysis in Delhi. Field investigators conducted face-to-face interviews with stratified samples across 35 assembly constituencies in the city. In addition to quantitative data collection, interns documented their field experiences and participant observations, highlighting key issues influencing electoral preferences in different 2019 and 2024 General Election as well as last Assembly election of Delhi.
